Lunch and Snack

For my morning snack, I had two celery sticks and a baby bell cheese. For lunch, about an hour later, I had a salad. Two handfulls of lettuce, sweet grape tomatoes, cheese, turkey and italian dressing. It was good.

I took my beef stick and 15 almonds with me to work. I ate the beef stick while I was working, and ate the almonds on my way home. When I got home, I realized that I was starving and that I couldn't wait until later. I ate two pickle spears. Now, I am eyeballing the Red Vines, but realize that the calories are not wanted.

I weighed myself this morning. Not a pretty sight. Hopefully the enthusiasm will keep up. I am already tired of the breakfast cups, and am craving licorice and gummy bears. Argg!

Day 3 Breakfast

For Breakfast, I decided to make a scramble. It originally was going to be an omlet, but I don't know how to do those. I cooked up two pieces of bacon and set them aside. I then cooked my "omlet" which consisted of three eggs, bacon, diced tomato from a can, frozen chopped onions, green pepper and cheese. It was yummy. I tried to choke down the tomato juice, but I just couldn't. It gives me more room/time to drink more water. I am going to measure myself, since we do not own a scale. So far, so good!

Day Two

Blogger wasn't working yesterday, so I couldn't post my progress.

Breakfast went fine. I ate the breakfast cups at about 6:30. I normally wouldn't eat that early, but I had an appointment at 8:30. I was full for most of the morning, which was wierd. I "forced" myself to eat 3 celery sticks on my way home from the nail gal. That was about 11 a.m.

After I got home from my two appointments, I laid down for twenty minutes. I was hoping for more like an hour, but it didn't work out that way. I got up at about 12:20 or so, and started to work on my homework for my Masters. I decided that since I needed to leave for work in less than an hour, I should probably eat lunch. I had three peices of turkey, two Clausson pickle spears, and a baby bell cheese. I did well for the early part of the afternoon. I had 15 almonds, a beef stick (similar to a slim jim) and two celery sticks. That was my afternoon snack. I did okay for the first hour and a half at work. After that, I could hear and feel my tummy grumbling.

For dinner, now that was a disaster. I didn't cheat, just over cooked it. I attempted to cook seared salmon with veggies. I cooked the veggies in olive oil, as per the directions. I then was to use the rest of the olive oil that was in the pan to cook the salmon in. Yeah... the out side of the fish was crispy, and I had to cook the salmon longer than the recepie said. My husband hates fish, and subsequently couldn't cook his non SBD dinner due to the smell of fish whafting through the house. I was so aggravated with my dinner and him, that I ate about half of it. I went to bed early. I laid there and watched t.v. for a long time, and didn't eat the desert. I guess that's okay. It just means that I have more desert for today!

Dinner

Hey everyone! I did a burger for dinner. I had lettuce, tomato, pickles, cheddar cheese, and bacon on it. There was mayo (traces) on it, and I ate it without the bun. Instead of fries, I had the restaurant make me broccoli. It was good. It's funny because for Harvest of the Month (at work) the food is broccoli. I haven't done anything about desert for tonight. I did do the ricotta cheese desert thing last night. Not good. It was lumpy and gross. My mom thinks that I needed to put it in the blender to puree it, but there are no destructions. I may end up having a piece of valentines candy or red vines. I will also eat my almonds.

So far, today's progress was okay. I was hungry, but I remembered my water. I may have been hungry, but it could have also have been thirst pangs. I hope that tomorrow goes better!

Horray! Day One Complete! I feel as if I should get a gold star!

Lunch and Afternoon Snack

For Lunch I had a salad. I grabbed about two handfuls of lettuce from a redi-made salad bag. No pre-cut veggies in it. I added cherry or grape tomatoes, cheese, and turkey. I shredded up the turkey slices so it would be easy to eat. I also added South Beach's italian dressing. I also grabbed 5 almonds to help "fill" me up. For snack, I am going to take a Laughing Cow cheese thing, 2 celery sticks, and 5 almonds. I know this won't fill me up, but I can't eat a meal when I am teaching for only 3 hours. This should be an interesting day! So far the bottle water count is 1.5. I hope to increase that by the end of the day!

Week One Day One

Hello there! I have started the South Beach way of life. I do not say diet, because diets fail. What are the first three letters in diet? Die. So, my philosophy is that if you keep in mind that it is a way of life, you will succeed. My niece has been on it for a little while and has lost 40 pounds. I hope that I am just as successful! Today is Day One. I had two breakfast cups this morning, with coffee. I can't bring myself to choke down the tomato V-8 juice. Ugghh! So, I ate breakfast at about 7:30. At 10:30 I got hungry. I didn't remember to look at the book when I grabbed my snack. I decided on two Clausson spears. It filled me up, but as I write this, I am still feeling the hunger pangs.

This is a picture of me and a cousin. This is the only picture I have of me that gives an idea of what the whole picture looks like. The other pictures were of my wedding, and that was almost a year ago. I do not know how much I weigh, but I fit into size 16 pants and XL tops. I would love to get back to at least a size 10, and ideally a size 8.

I am eager to get started. I have marked my South Beach recepie books with recepies I want to try. I have only marked phase 1, as I am not able to eat phase 2 foods.

I am excited to start this new way of life and would love to find others who are on the same journey!
